Since I spend the better part of my days helping people secure a new “roof over their heads” I can really appreciate this holiday!
For most of us, a “roof over our head” means a home and living in a house that protects us from the elements, keeping us warm, dry, and cozy.
Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as we are ~ there are many homeless people right here in our area who don’t have that luxury and the “roof over their head” could be a car roof, a doorway roof or a cardboard box roof or if they are lucky, a neighbor or friend’s roof.
There are millions of people around the world who live in poverty or disaster areas who don’t have any type of home to keep them safe.
So I’m asking you today to spend a few minutes appreciating your “roof over your head”. And why not think about making a contribution to a homeless shelter, so others can come in out of the rain. We all need a “roof over our heads” every day, not just today.
