Living in the Northeast, and more specifically, Midcoast Maine, around this time of year I really start to look for signs that winter will be over soon and, once again, spring will come! I mean, I know it will ~ it’s just that sometimes it really doesn’t seem like there’s an end in sight ~ but guess what I saw on my way home from work yesterday ~ yep, that’s right ~ the sap is running!!
That can only mean one thing ~ it’s almost time for Maine Maple Sunday ~ http://bit.ly/13aF4t6
Maine maple syrup, maple sugar candy, horse drawn hayrides, sugar houses, live music and on and on and on..
So mark your calendars for March 24th. Because nothing says Beginning of Spring like an all you can eat pancake breakfast with real maple syrup in a small town grange hall!
Check out this link to find some of the areas Maple Sundays (and some have Saturday offerings as well!) http://bit.ly/UQYAHz
My favorite is the West Minot Grange Hall but where ever you end up, you’ll be sure to have a great time! And in the words of Ed Shankman (I Met a Moose in Maine One Day) …”maple syrup… the best thing by far, that anyone’s ever put in a jar”
We were just talking about how March will bring Maine Maple Sunday! We usually go to Goranson Farm in Dresden. So much fun!
